Churchill Franklin
Churchill created this painting in Bruce Muirhead’s 1969 winter term painting class, the only studio art class he took. It is an abstract painting of a high school girlfriend, not from a model. His interest in art was influenced by his family. Churchill’s father was an architect in New York City, and more of an artist than a businessman. His cousin, Churchill Davenport, became a prolific painter and started the Kentucky School of Art.
